This week I chose to highlight Robert Reynolds' work, "Untitled 632," because I was intrigued by his style and use of colors and textures. Reynolds explains how he lets the painting move him as he goes, rather than starting out with a plan or "map" as he describes it. He treats each layer individually and says he responds "to each element placed within the image." What really caught my attention was the use of vibrant colors, both warm and cool, and I immediately noticed what looks like an eye in the background on the left side. Reynolds expertly plays with transparency and layers to create something really unique and eye-catching.
