The picture I choose this week is "The place where only
yesterday" by San Base.
San Base immigrated to Canada in 1996, he was born in 1956
and raised in the former Soviet Union. There he developed a strong interest in
mathematics and computer technology. His work which he calls dynamic Painting
is a painting that is changed with time, as new images are generated from an
original image. Using a computer he then
works on the picture's individuality, adding more variations and fluctuations
of the basic elements and letting them develop with time: the picture living
its own life with objects moved and transformed but still following the
original artist's concept. I chose this picture because is reminds me of the
golden gate bridge during sunset with seagulls flying over. I love how the
shadow and light work in this picture. It low lights in the front and
highlights in the middle show the perfect sunset. I also so like the look of
waves in the bottom. There is a lot going on in this picture but it resembles a
perfect shot of active nature.
Love the color palette and mood of this piece.
