Sheila Smith

The artist that I found interesting this week from the MOCA, was Sheila Smith. I thought it was very interesting how she took the photos herself and then edited them in Photoshop. I liked her subject for the photos (New York). New Haven is known to some as the "Little New York". Her photos remind me of the city life and all the interesting things you'd be able to encounter on the subways and on the streets. The images almost looked blurred, which I think goes well with the "rainy day" theme of her photos.

  1. She has a very painterly look about her work... Photoshop does have a painting filter that can do a pretty good job of re-creating what she has here. Nice find Rachel.
