The piece of art I choose this week is Call Me by Claire
Nolen.
Nolen is a central European picture maker, painter, visual
artist, poet and writer. She immigrated to Canada in 2000. Nolen has been a
passionate photographer since childhood. Per MOM Nolen’s style is careful,
muted and uniquely her own. I like the simplicity of Nolen’s work. She lets the
small amount she captures speak for itself. The rest of the space is starkly barren
but that seems to have a voice of it’s own as well. I also like how old and distressed it looks. Beautiful picture.

Simplicity and understatement always speak louder than shouting to me any day of the week...
